PT. Apecmas Utama Indonesia made history as the first company in the world to successfully install and commission the Esko Quartz system for label production. This landmark installation demonstrated not only our technical capability but our courage to lead — bringing a technology that had never been deployed for labels anywhere globally, right here to Indonesia's print industry. It was a defining moment that established Apecmas as a pioneer, not a follower.
Building on our world-first achievement, Apecmas went on to complete the first ever installation of the Esko Quartz system for flexible packaging in the entire Southeast Asian region. At a time when the flexible packaging industry in SEA was undergoing rapid transformation, this installation positioned our clients — and Indonesia — at the absolute forefront of regional print technology. Another first. Another milestone. Another proof of what Apecmas delivers.
We believe that providing the best solutions for our customers is not just about selling products. For us, the right solution encompasses a broader and more valuable service that can meet a comprehensive need.
Being an authorised partner for a brand certainly provides an opportunity to introduce products, but we are aware that this role can create conflicts of interest. We want to emphasize that our role is not just as a seller, but as a reliable partner in helping customers make the best decisions.
With this approach, we aim to differentiate ourselves from business models that prioritize sales volume alone — like supermarkets that attempt to offer every kind of product but ultimately fail to be responsible to their principals because they cannot sell the products effectively.
Ultimately, our responsibility is not only limited to our customers but also to the principals who have entrusted their products to us. By maintaining this relationship and acting as a reliable partner, we are committed to providing optimal results. We avoid situations that can cause conflicts of interest, whether with existing or potential principals — ensuring we can continue to run our business with transparency and high integrity, maintaining healthy relationships and mutual respect.
We believe that by conducting business based on these principles, we are not only able to serve our customers in the best possible way but also maintain responsible and harmonious relationships with every principal we represent. We are committed to always maintaining a balance between the interests of customers and principals, in order to achieve the optimal results for all parties involved.
There are subtle elements throughout this platform that hold a meaning close to my heart — quiet symbols of our commitment to always being present for our customers and suppliers, and of our pride in the Indonesian identity that shapes everything we do. You may notice them, or you may not. Either way, they are there.

On 17 June 2026 in Jakarta, Esko and PT. Apecmas brought together CEOs and senior leaders shaping the future of flexographic printing for an exclusive Executive Seminar — an evening of insights, live demonstration, and strategic dialogue on workflow integration, smart manufacturing, and digital transformation across Indonesia's packaging landscape. The event also featured ecosystem partners including Bobst, Asahi, and Windmöller & Hölscher.
This event was the natural expression of a partnership spanning more than two decades. Since 2003, PT. Apecmas Utama Indonesia and Esko have worked side by side to power Indonesia's transition from conventional platemaking to fully digital, automated flexo ecosystems — driving measurable performance gains, technology upgrades, and competitive advantage for converters across the Indonesian archipelago.
"This anniversary marks another potential turning point for converters across the region who are looking to automate, are ready to scale or for those leaders ready to dominate their segment."
— Arnab Maiti, General Manager — SEA, Greater China & Oceania, Esko

Established in 1982 by Mr. Zion Pangestu Tjandra, PT. Apecmas Nusantara began as a dedicated sales network for Mitsubishi sheet-fed presses in Indonesia. Officially registered on 30 November 1989, the company grew into one of the most countable players in Indonesia's printing world.
